Thomas Silverstein is a Counsel in the Fair Housing & Community Development Project at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. His work focuses on impact litigation under the Fair Housing Act; efforts to increase compliance with the duty to affirmatively further fair housing through policy advocacy, administrative enforcement, and technical assistance; and the provision of legal support to grassroots housing justice organizers. Thomas earned his juris doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2013. He has written extensively on the intersection of civil rights law and land use law. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and the District of Columbia.
