Washington, DC (April 16) – On Friday, April 17 at noon the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in partnership with The Raben Group will put on “Voting and COVID-19: Existential Threats to a Safe And Fair Election in 2020,” a virtual panel that will examine these concerns and look at strategies for moving forward.

In light of the disturbing scenes from last week’s election in Wisconsin, there should be no illusions about the difficulties ahead and the need to take proactive steps to prepare for a safe and fair election everywhere in the country. Now is the time to advocate and ensure that all Americans’ voices are heard in future elections, especially in November 2020.

The expert panel includes Kristen Clarke, president & executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law; Senator Russ Feingold, president of the American Constitution Society; Dahlia Lithwick, senior editor at Slate & host of Amicus, Slate’s biweekly podcast about the law and the Supreme Court; and Myrna Pérez, director of the Brennan Center’s Voting Rights and Elections Program. The panel will be moderated by the Raben Group’s Elliot Williams.
