(BALTIMORE) The Daily Record has named Erinn D. Martin, policy counsel with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, to the 2021 VIP List – Very Important Professionals Successful by 40 awards.

The Daily Record created the VIP List in 2010 to recognize professionals 40 years of age and younger who have been successful in Maryland. Winners, chosen by a panel of judges including the previous year’s winners and representatives of The Daily Record, were selected based on professional accomplishments, community service and the impact of their achievements.

“It’s an absolute honor to be named to The Daily Record’s 2021 VIP list. Congratulations to my fellow honorees who represent the best and brightest young professionals across Maryland,” said Martin. “I look forward to continuing to advocate for civil rights and serving my community in the years ahead.”

At the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Martin is an integral member of the Public Policy Project, where she advocates for a diverse federal judiciary and the advancement of our nation’s civil rights laws. Before joining the Lawyers’ Committee, Martin worked at the Center for Reproductive Rights, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the National Center for Law and Economic Justice. She served as the 2020-2021 President of the Greater Washington Area Chapter, Women Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association (GWAC).

“Erinn has devoted her career to advancing civil rights and social justice, and she already has made a significant impact in the field, so it is wonderful to see her accomplishments and commitment to public service recognized by the Daily Record as a 2021 VIP honoree,” said Demelza Baer, director of Public Policy at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. “All of us at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law look forward to joining The Daily Record’s virtual celebration of Erinn and her fellow honorees on Sept. 22.”

The VIP List honorees will be recognized at an online celebration on Sept. 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. Each of the winners will be celebrated for their achievements through video storytelling. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in the program with their congratulations and cheers using social media platforms from their homes or offices.
