Quinn Anex-Ries*

Policy Associate

Dr. Quinn Anex-Ries joined the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law as a Digital Justice Policy Associate in June 2023. Prior to joining the Lawyers’ Committee, Quinn worked as a policy intern for New America’s Open Technology Institute and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he focused on data privacy, algorithmic bias, and platform accountability.
Quinn graduated from the University of Southern California with a Ph.D. in American Studies and Ethnicity and Graduate Certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies in May 2023. Quinn’s doctoral research examined the history of technology policy, civil rights, and free expression in the United States. Quinn also graduated cum laude from Smith College with a degree in Africana Studies, Chemistry, and Biomathematics.
Quinn’s research and writing has been published by the Washington Post, Tech Policy Press, and New America.
