Volunteer Front Desk Receptionist

The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights under Law welcomes applications for the position of Volunteer Front Desk Receptionist.

Position Description:

Greet visitors in a warm and cheerful manner, function as central telephone operator, provide customer service assistance to callers, receive deliveries, receive and send faxes, open and date stamp certain mail, sort incoming mail, keep reception area in a neat appearance and assist with some office work when needed. The front desk reception is a most important position. The receptionist represent us to the public, answering questions in person and on the phone, assisting visitors and directing callers with a variety of problems to the right individual. Flexible work schedule, however, we ask that you dedicate at least 5 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am
and 5:30pm.

Skills:

Friendly disposition, Excellent telephone skills, Professional appearance and attitude, Ensure quality customer service, Multi task person. Must be able to sit for a few hours with the ability to move about on occasion. Volunteer will train with an experienced reception volunteer with helpful training materials. Volunteer will answer phones
as they train.

Deadline: Open until filled

As a volunteer you will not be paid for your service but will receive a transportation and meal stipend. Although you are not an employee of the Lawyers' Committee you are expected to comply with the relevant policies and procedures of the Lawyers' Committee.
