Richard Jones
Chief Financial Officer
Richard L. Jones joined the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law as chief financial officer in 2007 where he is responsible for the finance, accounting, budgeting and investment functions of the Lawyers’ Committee. Jones brings 20 years of financial experience to the organization. Prior to joining the Lawyers’ Committee, he served as the director of Finance and Accounting Services at the Council on Foundations. Jones has five years of public accounting experience. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland and his CPA certification in 1989. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).
The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law (LCCRUL), a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, was formed in 1963 at the request of President John F. Kennedy to involve the private bar in providing legal services to address racial discrimination. The principal mission of the Lawyers’ Committee is to secure, through the rule of law, equal justice under law, particularly in the areas of housing, community development, employment, voting, education and environmental justice.
