Sarah
Crawford is a staff attorney for the Employment Discrimination
Project at the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights
Under Law, litigating cases involving discrimination in
the workplace. She handles employment matters through all
phases of their processing from the administrative filing,
at trial, and through appeal.
Ms.
Crawford graduated with honors from the College of William
and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a degree in government.
She also received her law degree from the William and Mary
School of Law, where she served as a member of the editorial
staff of the Bill of Rights Journal. While in law school,
Sarah worked for a Richmond law firm, the Richmond City
Attorneys Office, Virginias Department of Employee
Relations Counselors, and the General Counsels Office
of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Immediately
prior to joining the Lawyers Committee, Sarah worked
as an attorney with the United States Department of Labor
for five years. On behalf of the Labor Departments
Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Sarah represented
the interests of employees of federal contractors in class
action employment discrimination litigation. Sarah helped
to obtain successful outcomes in cases against a number
of large corporations. She also assisted in the development
of the Department's position in employment-related cases
before the United States Supreme Court.
Sarah
is licensed to practice law in the State of Virginia and
the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
